Hello.

Where's the old site?

Yesterday's Video

Well for some odd reason, yesterday’s video wouldn’t post properly. So instead I’ve just given you a link instead.
What I wouldn’t give for a bowl of Weetabix right now.
This years WWDC: meh.

On Arriving Home

We just got home tonight around 11pm after what has basically been 4 weeks on the road. I noticed our house smells funny (note to self: buy candles). I pretty much have the same ritual every time I come home: I open all the mail and sort into three piles: recycling, shredding, action. First two are obvious, the last one is for tomorrow when I have more energy - I’ll either file it (in the case of statements) or do whatever action is required (pay bill, call company, respond to mail) and then file or trash. I bring in the luggage and groceries (hmmm late night grocery shopping - what fun) but the luggage won’t get touched until tomorrow. Then I check any urgent emails, check my RSS feed and then bed.

I won’t be online tomorrow at all as I don’t want to see any accidental emails, any web pages, any stray RSS feeds or tweets regarding Apple’s WWDC. There will only be one webpage I visit tomorrow around 6pm - this one. This let’s me know there is a video up from Steve Jobs keynote presentation and then AJ and I will watch it together and experience first hand the unveiling of new Apple products. Woo hoo! Much discipline is required.

1st McDonalds of ‘08. Regretting it already.
Watching “How Great is our God” with Louie Gigglio and being humbled.

Quiznos Revival

Good news UK people. It turns out there are Quiznos on your soil. Geoff Vallance emailed me to let me know there are Quiznos in London while Andy Baxter let me know Glasgow is about to get one around the corner from Central Station as is Livingston.

Update: Quiznos UK Website

Quiznos and Flying

So I take it from my extensive research (i.e. Rick twittered back and asked what Quiznos is) that Quiznos has yet to reach the UK. Quiznos, for those not enlightened is the home of the toasted sub. Yes, yes, I know Subway does toasted subs (they coincidently started doing them, once Quiznos came on the scene) but honestly Subway is a poor comparison.

Take it from me, the Black Angus sandwich from Quiznos is easily the best sandwich you will ever eat in your life. It’s hard to put into words on a blog just how good this sandwich is. It’s so good, that I haven’t actually tried anything else on their menu (though there was that one time in Iceland when I ended up ordering a lamb sub, but that was sheer stupidity and is best forgotton, besides, the Black Angus wasn’t even on that menu). Trust me on this one.

Today was fun. As we were doing some last minute packing to leave the house, Air Canada rang to tell us our flight had been cancelled, but not to worry as they’d automatically booked us on a United flight which departed 5 minutes later than our Air Canada one. Got to the airport and there was an Air Canada concierge waiting to meet us to make sure we didn’t have any hassles at the United checkin desk (which we did, which the concierge got sorted). Ahhh Air Canada, you spoil us. Today was Abi’s 66th and 67th flights which she just sailed through.

If you want a quick update on where we’ve been and where we’re going (including some photos from Lakeland) pop over here. For now, I’m going to go and kiss my wife.

Question for my UK readers: do you have Quiznos over there?
