The aforementioned Gary & Sarah rocked my world this evening when, after dinner, they handed over my birthday present which turned out to be a Wii Fit. After shoving some batteries in and running through the calibration tools it turns out that I have the fitness age of a 52 year old and am (apparently) obese.
Gee, happy birthday Al!
But just how cool is this little bit of kit? The four of us spent the evening playing with hula-hoops, downhill skiing, slalom, doing some yoga balancing moves and discovered that none of us had a particularly good grasp of where our centre of balance is. All in all, my birthday week is just racking up the good times. I tell you though, after the birthday week, then my fitness regime kicks in and we’ll get my BMI down from obese to healthy perfection.
Well what a fun week we are having. This Saturday is my birthday but we fly out to the UK on Monday so in order to make sure we celebrate my birthday in full, we’re having sort of a birthday week before we leave.
The week started out amazingly well, when my wife came home on Monday night with her present for me… which was a
Nintendo Wii! Having been a little bit of a video gamer in years gone by, I was thrilled to have this new little console which we immediately hooked up to the TV. We’re going to make good use of this when we have friends over!
Speaking of friends - my birthday week has been made all the better by the addition of our very good friends,
Gary & Sarah Morgan, who’ve come up for the week to hang out with us. Between the four of us, we are already ruling at Tennis and Bowling on the Wii.
Tomorrow we are all taking Abigail to the zoo for her first ever visit! And then on Saturday we are all going to see the new Pixar movie
WALL•E - you can tell that this week is filling my love tank up nicely! I love birthday weeks!
My wife is just too good. She picks good birthday presents. Oh you’ll see.
Jammed my finger in our front door this morning. Dang does it hurt. Still. Reminder: I am not a man of steel.
Question: Is there a piece of software out there (from a major development house) that is worse than Adobe Updater?
Watching Superman II. I remember thinking this was good. Makes me wonder what I’ll think of today’s movies in 28 years time.
